EYFS CURRICULUM

Curriculum Overviews

The EYFS curriculum is mapped out using a school-developed thematic approach connected to the new early years foundation stage statutory framework and the revised Development Matters document.

The curriculum is delivered across a two-year cycle to help develop skills required at each checking point in the revised Development Matters document. This also helps develop staff confidence in the implementation and the measuring of the impact of the curriculum across the whole of the early years foundation stage. The aim of this approach is to ensure a whole-staff commitment to the achievement of every child.

As a responsive curriculum, flexible changes will also occur to take advantage of specific child and cohort interests.

Due to the implementation of the new statutory framework, the early years components of the school's skills and knowledge progression are currently under review and being updated.
